Diarrhea {Rapid Relief}

Contrary to common myth, diarrhea associated with IBS can indeed be RESOLVED fully. I’ve done it myself!🙋🏼‍
The majority of IBS (not all, certainly) is caused by small intestinal bowel overgrowth (SIBO) which is when endemic microbes housed in the large intestine migrate up into the small intestine (via a faulty valve).

These wayward bacteria find wildly abundant food sources from our semi-digested meals and give out MASSIVE amounts of gas from their digestion.

Their gas byproducts can also trigger chronic diarrhea (if primary hydrogen), constipation (if primary methane), or an oscillation between the two. The result?💁🏼‍

People will struggle with gas, bloating, cramps, and diarrhea.

What to do for rapid relief:
1. Carminative herbs like peppermint, ginger, and fennel (releases trapped gas and relaxes the muscle wall of the intestine).🌿
2. Activated charcoal - effective at absorbing excess gas in the gut (best to be taken between meals).🖤
3. Digestive Enzymes - taken at the beginning of each meal.🍽

These three tips are for rapid relief, they won’t resolve the problem. There needs to be a deep dive into your lifestyle + environment to identify YOUR triggers. For me this is so much fun to do with clients. And SOOOO many aha! moments.✨✨

IBS related chronic diarrhea shouldn’t be ignored or just managed! Diets that reduce fermentable fiber can also bring dramatic relief for the short-term, while healing is taking place.
