[Video] Gut Nourishing Meat Stock

Making a good meat stock at home doesn’t have to be difficult. Luka Symons shares her best tips using either a slow cooker or Instant Pot to get the job done with ease. First off, save your veggie scraps from the week. Store in the freezer for making the stock later (we talk about the benefits of this tip in the video). Don’t discriminate either; all parts of the vegetables are useful – celery tops, onion skins etc. Next, save the bones and fat any time you eat meat during the week.

Ingredients

2-3 pounds of grass fed beef (I get my beef from Redtail Farms)

3-4 carrots, chopped

1 small onion - quartered

3-4 celery stalks, chopped

1-2 tsp sea salt

fresh or dried herbs (use what you got!)

water

Directions

Roast meat for 30 mins in the oven at 350. This will add more flavour to your stock! Then add all your ingredients including meat to your slow cooker or Instant Pot.

Slow Cooker

Cook on low for 8-10 hours

Instant Pot

High Pressure for 2 hours

It’s just that simple friends!
